Now that the snow is beginning to fall, The Niagara Falls Fire Department asks all residents to be mindful of the location of the fire hydrants while they are shoveling snow. If you have a hydrant in the vicinity of your home please make sure that it is kept clear and that snow is not allowed to pile up in the area of the hydrant. Firefighters may lose precious time in locating the hydrant and connecting hoses should they need to use the hydrant to combat a fire in the neighborhood. The time lost can have life or death consequences for both firefighters as well as civilians,
